Dear Book Lover,
Last month I wrote that my thriller RATS is a finalist in the 2015 Beverly Hills Book Awards. Since then RATS has also been selected as a finalist in the International Book Awards, a competition that includes both indie and traditionally published books.
But most recently, I’m excited to share with you that RATS has been shortlisted for the 2015 International Rubery Awards: a prize created in the UK specifically to recognize indie-published works. The selection committe said: “This is a well written page-turner, written with staccato prose and sharp scene-setting…The plot is complex and well controlled.” You can read their full comment on the 2015 winners page here.
While having RATS chosen by these fine organizations is incredibly thrilling, it’s even better to see over 100 5-star reviews on Amazon from readers like yourself. Thank you to everyone.
Mash Up, my second novel, has been awarded Best Thriller in the 2015 National Indie Excellence Awards. I’m thankful to the selection committee, and also greatly appreciative that there are organizations out there that take the time and effort to focus on books from independent publishers. Many awards require publication through a traditional legacy publisher in order to even be considered.
I’ll leave you with my favorite comment from a recent Mash Up review:
“Cleverly designed, Mash Up is the perfect detective read, as well as a classic addition to the noir genre.”—San Francisco Book Review (5-stars of 5)
Until next time…
Good summer reading,
