Joe Klingler’s thriller RATS selected as Finalist in 2015 Beverly Hills Book Awards

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) monitors the number of books published by country. They report that over 300,000 books were published in the United States in 2013. But that includes all types of books. Fiction in the English language estimated by Matt Wilkens from numbers by R.R. Bowker suggest around 100,000 long form fiction books per year world wide.

That is a big stack of books.

Very few of these works are from new authors—perhaps as few as 5,000. Being noticed in this mountain of material has worse odds than drawing an inside straight when you’re down to your last poker chip.

So I am honored that my debut thriller RATS was selected as a Finalist in the 2015 Beverly Hills Books Awards. The International Beverly Hills Book Awards has for years been recognizing and celebrating excellence in book publishing. I thank them for taking the time to look at RATS, and for choosing it as a finalist.
