“What is a scientist after all? It is a curious man looking through a keyhole, the keyhole of nature, trying to know what’s going on.” — Jacques Cousteau
I saw this quote and it struck me that Cousteau, a famous seaman who studied the sea and life in and under water, would use a keyhole metaphor. Now, I think it’s a great metaphor, especially in how it implies the limits of what we’ll be able to see.
But still, it made me smile.
